As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and guests, creating a welcoming and positive environment.
In addition to greeting and directing individuals, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth patient flow by providing support at the check-in and check-out desks.
This role requires excellent customer service skills, multitasking abilities, and a willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks within the medical office.
Responsibilities:
Greeting and Welcoming:
Welcome patients, visitors, and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, creating a positive first impression of the medical office.
Patient Assistance:
Provide initial assistance to patients by directing them to the appropriate areas, such as waiting rooms, registration desks, or examination rooms.
Appointment Verification:
Confirm patient appointments and assist with any necessary updates or changes in the scheduling system.
Check-In Support:
Cross-train to assist with patient check-in procedures, including verifying patient information, collecting necessary forms, and updating electronic medical records.
Insurance Verification:
Collaborate with the check-in staff to verify insurance coverage and ensure accurate information is obtained for billing purposes.
Co-Pay Collection:
Collect patient co-pays and provide receipts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
Check-Out Support:
Cross-train to assist with patient check-out procedures, including providing necessary documentation, scheduling follow-up appointments, and addressing billing inquiries.
Communication:
Effectively communicate with patients, addressing questions, concerns, and providing general information about office policies and procedures.
Patient Flow Management:
Collaborate with the medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow, minimizing wait times and optimizing the overall patient experience.
Administrative Support:
Assist with general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, maintaining patient records, and managing phone calls when needed.
